Endoscopy
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, is a specialized procedure that uses a thin, flexible tube, dye and X-ray imaging to diagnose health issues related to the pancreas, gallbladder, bile or related ducts. ERCP helps doctors discover if there is any blockage within these organs. This procedure can be used to help diagnose the cause of jaundice, inflammation or pancreatitis.
ERCP can often relieve health issues by removing blockages or stones, and by doing so, may help some patients avoid the need for surgery.
